    Hello guys ,

I'm pretty new into this world of watches and i arrives at the turning point of getting my desired omega Vintage ... I don't know if i want a De ville , Geneve or Seamaster yet . What i know is that i don't know which one is great at its price point : around 500 dollars / euros .
Preferably , i would take a silver dial but i don't mind that much .

Can someone please suggest me and show me an authentic one that i could possibly purchase ?

    thank you .

    Kind regards

that's a good start but we need you to tick lore specific filters :D
    Size? era? shape? automatic, manual?
You can find some 1012 movement for resaonable prices, and that movement is extremly brillant.

Check out the sales section here. Private sales normally has more vintage than the dealer section. You don't need 200 posts to be able to PM a seller if you see one you like.

Well , basically i'm looking for a nice round and quite thin case . Something really dressy .
About the era , i don't mind to be honest : i'm just looking for a good looking vintage that hasn't been refurnished / frankened etc ...
And Automatic is what i'm looking for .
If you can eventually suggest me some .. i'd be open for that .
    Thanks

Some 70's Genève with a 1012? Not slim I would say otherwise you would have to opt for a hand would movement taht is thinner or a 711, the slimest automatic one.

Look at the watch sales to get a taste on what you like. The good thing about buying here is that you can be reasonablly assured that the watch is what it should be.

    Welcome.

Indeed . It's AWESOME . How is the case that nice ? same for the hand and so on ... seems like its completely new .

Other recommandations as a Deville or Geneve maybe ?

Where is the sale section here ?

You will have to do some research to find what you like. What I like, may not be what you enjoy. And that's ok!

    Personally, I like Seamster cosmics

The only thing is that i can't distinguish a fake one from an authentic one . That's why i opened the topic to talk with people who know

Distinguishing between the two is very tough. The best thing for you to do is your research (lurk and post on the forums often) and only buy from the for sale sections on this site.

From you advising me buy fro the sale sections , it means that there's people who check all the people that are selling their watch here , right ?

They are informally checked. Ultimately, it is on YOUR shoulders to do the appropriate background.

    Hello
Like everywhere you need to do your own research it will help you avoid being disappointed. That does t mean you have to be an expert on particular watch. Start by looking at the WRUW thread (What are you wearing) This will give you an idea of what is out there and help you decide what you like.

The vast majority of members here, those that participate, value their reputations and have nothing to gain from wrongly describing a watch, it is very rare that something will get past every one on this forum.
The prices are usually fair, but if something is overpriced then it usually sits here for a very long time.
That said I do believe that you need to buy the seller and that means partiipating and getting a general impression of who you are dealing with before buying and by partiipating your self it will enable others to get an impression of you too.

Depending on your budget, anywhere from a sturdy old omega geneve to an old seamester 35mm case, tons of references to choose from...

All the above is GOOD advice. Take it my friend .
There is so much rubbish out there that is worth nothing.
Buy from here for your first venture into the vintage world.
    Best of luck.
