I went the Casioak metal case.

While my Trusty Luminox was getting a new battery

If you want a robust beater that’s as light as a feather, and has a battery that lasts a good 4+ years. Try a Luminox. Had mine 15 years and it’s a beauty that gets a swim nearly every day.

The LUMINOX seem really well built.

I may have settled on one, the Momentum Sea Quartz 30: 300m water resistance, a reissue of Magnum PI’s watch (for the first 3 seasons) and made/assembled about 20 minutes from my home https://ca.momentumwatch.com/blogs/momentum-blog/introducing-the-sea-quartz-30

I’ll check them out later this week

Dave, if you buy the Sea Quartz let me know what you think l. My understanding is that this new company is iwned by the people that used to own Chronosport back in the 70s and 80s. I have a buddy who bought one and loves it. I'm still on the fence, I love the show, I like the watch design, I'm just not sure about buying a quartz watch though.

I picked it up today on the rubber strap. My watch maker carries Momentum watches so I got a very good price, and pocketed a spare strap in green rubber as well.

The super luminova doesn’t last forever, but that’s the only drawback on a 300m watch at this price. Sure it’s quartz, but it has an expected 45 month battery life. The strap is very comfortable, annd 20mm lugs give you lots of options. At 11mm tall (I believe) it’s a very comfy watch too. I see I didn’t have the bezel aligned for the photoshoot, but it does line up wonderfully.

Next step, change my ringtone to the Magnum PI theme music 😁

It does look awfully good. I'll probably check in with you in a few months and see what you think of it after some wrist time.
