Hi all - considering buying my wife a birth year watch - any suggestions as to a good '67 watch to look out for? She has small wrists: a Speedy isn't the right choice Other brands as well as Omega considered. Dressy or tough everyday both possibilities.
My wife has 3 lady Dynamics, 1 manual with steel bracelet and 2 automatics with either leather and steel bracelet. The three have different dials. She likes them very much and 1967 should be ok.
Most of the 60s Ladies watches are good value as no-one seems to want them. I like some of the Dynamics or you might get a Diver such as a 566.0024, like the Franken one I built for my wife. http://omegaforums.net/threads/chri...ge-style-watch-build.18596/page-2#post-223409 Also available in blue with a black bezel. I think 1967 is in the right range. Cheers, Chris
I bought my wife a 68 Rolex GMT for her birthday...at first she didn't get it (a "used" watch), now she won't take it off her wrist. She gets more compliments than any other watch she has ever worn.
1967- The Cartier mini-Tank Allongee was introduced, and Cartier is very proud of it. http://www.cartier.co.uk/collection.../tank/tank/1967-mini-tank-allongee-london-478
I second the Dynamic recommendation. I had my mother-in-laws '68 Dynamic restored as a gift to my wife last year, that she absolutely loved. It's certainly a conversation starter when she wears it, and design wise just screams 60s. I spent more on the restoration that the watch is worth, but it's all sentimental, so I don't mind.
I second Cartier. You cannot go wrong with a good cartier. Some of the tanks for women may be small for today's standards but take a look at 67 men's tanks and you'll get a lot of great choices. Either way Cartier is a great vintage luxury brand for women... And men
