The world of Omega Speedmaster fascinates me. On my learning journey reading Chuck Maddox and other articles, I came across movement c1045 with Day & Date while maintaining 3 sub-dials. Is there a similar modern version of such speedmasters? If not, what is the most recent vintage/version that I could have my most luck finding one?

Not sure exactly what you are looking for since "most recent vintage" is a bit enigmatic, but if you google speedmaster day date you will get some hits.

Do your homework and spend time. I was once like you and I think that most hope who want day date/auto speedies eventually "move on" to the original manual.

A lot of people start out with a first date but end up married to standard speedy. Are you sure you need a date.
The Chrono hand is an easy way to set a date for those who can’t remember it …
If you do want a date the modern two sub-dial options give a nice second time zone feature.

Or if you want a date why not throw in the month (some cheap options around)

The speedmaster mark 40 has a day date month feature and still has the 3 sub dials.

The model Dan S mentioned above is Omega speak for the Mk40, also known as the Speedy Triple Date.

If you can live without the day window, another good option that looks more like the trad Moonwatch but has auto wind and a date window are the Broad arrow models using the 3303 and 3313 movements. Those are often overlooked (particularly by adherents to Chuck's views) but very good and from one POV a little more up market and downright special than 7750 or 1045 based stuff (particularly the latter).

Not sure about a Speedy but there is an Omega Seamaster that I always thought was very nice, with an annual calendar:

(I could have sworn it had a day function, but it seems to just be day and MONTH)

Thank you for all the responses. Now trying to find a good and reasonable Mk40 or what Pedders suggested.
