Hi - I'm new to the list. I just recently joined, but I have been reading for over four years.
I live in LA, and I can say that Wanna Buy A Watch on Melrose is a great place to check out. I just bought from them recently, and have bought a few things in the past we well. They have reasonable prices, and are willing to ship out of state and save you sales tax (which is insanely high in this city) if you are from out of state and have a shipping address. Mike is a great guy to deal with there.
I believe there is also another vintage store with some watches a few doors down named La Jolla Jewelry, but I've never been to that one, so can't say what they're like.
Alfred (coffee) in the Alley is just around the corner - a great place to kick it and check out the WeHo scene..
Also if you miss the Pasadena Market, there's also a vintage market down the road in Topanga.

I've never been to that one, but a co-worker goes all the time.. I hear it's pretty fun.
Or if you just want to check out the local pawn shop scene, there are a handful of funky pawn shops on Santa Monica Blvd, between Fairfax and La Brea where I've found a few good things (and once they gave me a bag of burritos for free - who says LA isn't friendly?).
Also there's another pawn shop on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena called Pasadena Pawn Shop. It's right there in the middle of it, but they are pretty cool.
Hope you have a good time and find something cool!
