    Hi all,
recently I acquired a Speedmaster Racing 145.022-69. The watch has following data:
    Serial: 296093XX
produced in May 1970. the watch is completely original including a DON bezel and the original hands (black center part). The case seems unpolished and all in all the watch is in excellent condition.
By internet recherche I found some other 145.022-69 racing Omegas with this characteristic dial:
    - Lunar Oyster Archiv: 145.022-69
    Serial: 296094XX
    - TheMasterOfSpeed Archiv: 1) 145.022-69
    Serial: 296094XX produced May 1970
    2) 145.022-69
    Serial: 296093XX
    3)145.022-69
    Serial: 296093XX

It seems that a batch of Racing Speedies are produced with Serial numbers between: 296093XX and 296094XX in May 1970 and delivered to Switzerland.
Are there any experts around here in the forums who know more about these "mysterious" Speedies???

I would appreciate to get any more information

    thx

Fist of all, welcome here and congrats for your rare and beautiful Speedy

Thanks for sharing your research. There are some other members here having the same watch which, I believe, fits the same serial range and delivery destination as far as I can remember ;)

Looks outstanding! Thanks for sharing. I never noticed the black center detail on the hands before. Perfect hybrid between Mark 2 and Speedy Pro

Looks great - also intriguing in terms of identification. The shape/colour of the chrono hand and of the sub-dial hands is distinctive, and suggests the variant seen on p458 of Moonwatch Only - 145.022-69 (grey dial). Presumably the orange hand, logo and markers colour, has faded to deep yellow from light exposure(?). Whatever . . . I'm green with envy!

The extract of the archives doesn't say anything about a racing dial?

no, but I can't believe that there is anything wrong with it because the serial number is only 5 numbers away from other watches I found at the mentioned websites....

I'm not saying there is, I'm just curious if that is something that is usually stated on an extract.

I think it's quite usual that there is no mention on an Extract about a specialist dial like the Racing.

I saw an extract of a 69-racing with very close serial, also May1970 and the extract stated in the field "dial": "not mentioned". So at least there was no hint for a black dial......... Crazy stuff

I don't think an extract for a contemporary MKii gives any indication of the dial either.

Just did some research on it very recently. NO information about the dial available at the source. But I confirm a batch in May for Switzerland

So what does that finally mean?! When they note "black dial...." as above the watch is not original?!

I don't know if by default they indicate "black"... what I meant is that no information about Racing dial found so far.

    Hi, welcome to the club

Here is mine 296093XX production May 29th, 1970, delivered in Switzerland on June 3rd, but with no mention of dial color:
I have old orange hands, but not sure it would be a good idea to change it. This watch probably left the factory with these white hands.
Almost all "racing" dial have different sets of hands.

The other one I know, sold few month ago in Switzerland for about CHF30000 on Ricardo.ch:
Almost the same serial number as mine and delivered to swiss market that same day on june 3rd, 1970.

2 more sold in the last year, but later movement numbers and different hands sets too:
