"Request Permission to Speak Freely , Sir ! "

When I was a little girl of 8 /9 sitting in the living room of my Australian neighbours listening ( sometimes dozing off...zzz..zz) to War Time stories , i was fortunate enough to see an example of a SM300 W10 worn by one of the Australian servicemen. These " so called military watch tuitions " were drilled into my head right into teenage years.....I thought they were pure waste of my time , bunch of gabbage details that serve no purpose in my life. HOW WRONG I WAS !!!

NOW.....I can simply rattle out points about certain MOD issued military timepieces & people actually find that abso-bloody-lutely fascinating !!! Really Guys .....?

There's nothing to it really , sometimes I had " Pissed Ozzeys " repeating the details of the watches over and over again , every weekend !!!

The SM300 W10 is THE predecessor to the MilSub 5517 , Rolex copied almost all the design cues from the W10 & made the 5517 their own !

Even without looking at your certificate of autheticity from RA / Bienne , I knew your beautiful SM300 W10 predates 1970
    ● The numbers on the bezel are fatter, markings thicker , distance in-between shorter
    ● Less serif on your dial
    ● Your watch doesnt have the typical Alien Head with the Happy Feet Symbol
    ● the A in the Omega is balanced not off centred
    ● Oh Yes ... 0ne more thing Sir . Your SM300 W10 like the MilSub is WR to 200 not 300 m

    Forget the Queen , guys....
    God Save the W10s & the 5517s !!!!

    Nice!

Just curious, did you "shop" out the numbers on the back to cover them up or were they erased mechanically by someone else? The only unique number "removed" is actually not hidden.

Caseback is perfect. I believe I might have ruined it with my terrible photoshop skills however.

    Very nice - congrats.

So, does the opener fit the caseback or not? ;)

Thank you my friend. This was serviced and sealed up by Omega HQ in Bienne, Switzerland. I was adviced not to open it up again. Will use the opener on another seamaster.

Great fun discussing these with you, love the dial and hands, quite similar lume to mine.
Mine of course has the MOD "fluffy" or "tipex" T below the centre post.
All the Omega script looks slightly thinner on your, earlier dial too, at least from the angles shown.
It would be great to compare in person.
Hard to find in this condition, MUCH easier to find a Rolex Milsub imo.
