Have to be careful. Multiple names and emails transacting with each other to create history. Only a scammer has ever asked me for buying referneces. Need to watch the language and it’s usage as well. Very big tell to me. Sometimes looks like google translate.

I will throw a comment out. Somehow, and I have no idea how, someone just posted a watch for sale on this forum under my username and avatar. I would have had no idea except I received multiple emails from people wanting to buy the watch (far more than I ever receive on watches I am actually selling). He didnt change my password or the email attached to the account but he was able to post her and timezone. TImeZone has now banned me which is really frustrating. I sure hope none of you ended up sending money - I posted a reply as soon as I became aware of the issue.

What's the account name? Sounds like someone guessed your password or used other means to get a hold of it.

    We'll help however we can.

Were you a member of WUS at any point?

I don't recall the def of WUS. I have been a long time small-time collector and buy and sell off and on. In fact, I was one of the guys that turned LouS on to Universals back in the day. Both my Omega and timeZone account names and passwords were the same so it is possible. I am Brent7928 on both forums - or at least was but TZ has blocked me for the time being and I have no way to contact them.

Please change your Omega Forums password to something unique right away.

You should also change your email passwords.

So, just to confirm, the most recent sales listings on your Bent7928 account here should be deleted?

I have reset every password today. It looks like one of the other Mods already took down the post that was fake. It was a post about an AP watch which is a brand I have never owned. The last post I made was about my tudor tiger chronograph.

WUS and some other sites had all of their data compromised not too long ago. Additionally, the passwords weren't stored in a way that was hard to decrypt, so all of those are now publicly listed and shared as well.

I don't think I used WatchUseek. I have only used TimeZone, Watchnet, VintageRolexForum and here.

It would be funny if that's a phishing site to steal your information. :p

Nah, the guy's known and very legit. Plus... for anyone that's online, your info will already be in there. This is just a convenient measure of how bad things are and a reminder to use different passwords everywhere.

    Also, welcome back

That's weird. Assumed you would've shown up for the Vertical Scope crap like WUS etc. I'm on a bunch of them.

I haven't been on WUS for years. Well, at least using my real name and email address. :D

Just looked it up, it seems you have an account from years ago with just 1 post on WUS.

Thanks for the info about the site to check my email. My forum email was exposed in Disqus and MySpace (haven't used MySpace in over 10 years). I checked and my passwords are all unique and not used anywhere else, and WUS password was changed recently (old and new ones are still unique). However, as I was not informed about Disqus so I changed me email asap, although I knew about the other breaches.

How can you ( @larryganz ) tell where it was exposed? It says 1 for me, but I can't see which one it was exactly.
    Thank you.
