This looked really nice to me so I bid what I thought was a fair price. My best fell over $1k short of the final $6200 sale price. That bezel is pretty special though which explains alot, although i did not think that it would achieve +6k, but maybe that's because I still know very little :/ Looks like a lovely one though, lucky winner!

Well, it's got a fabulous bezel, and the dial & hands look nice. Case too, and looks like it has the original crown even. $6200 is a lot but goes to show what a well-sorted example is worth these days

Yep I totally agree, it's a lovely looking one for sure, I'm just annoyed it didn't go for alot less making me the new owner, ha!

That bezel is superb, I can't really see a scratch on it. I wonder if it went to a lucky forum member....

Not at all surprised. This is a superior example IMO and can garner a premium price.
A 145.012 in this shape could easily get 8-9k. And we all know this DON alone is worth over $1500.

Sorry you didn't get it :(

Very nice 1116 bracelet which is pretty rare, too. The DON is out of this world.

I mean really, the only this that could potentially take away from the price is the worn down caseback. But I can't say I'm surprised at this price.

Nothing surprises me now with the current upward trend in prices.

Our Speedies look like good investments now, but the reality is I'll never sell my 67 because I won't be able to afford it again. It will always be the centre piece of my small but carefully selected collection.

I must find some $$$ though and find a really great birthday year '74 before I'm priced out of there too! They are still affordable but ....just.

Beautiful watch, although if it were mine I'd have to get a caseback with the seahorse. The price is stunning to me since a year ago this is what a transitional would have gone for.

It took me months to find a reasonably priced 145.022-74. For whatever reason, the 74 seems scarcer than the post moon 69, 71, 76 or 78. Good luck

Yes. The oldest, premoon 145.022-69 are going for high prices IF they still retain their DON bezels.
