Hello all! Just received this one today in the mail and found it at a great deal and was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were as far as the condition of dial etc. I tried taking photos in the best angles to capture the blue hands etc.
The serial number appears to be from the time period the watch is supposed to be and I know about the Dennison cases but I’m still not sure the case belongs to this one although case number (near lug) matches case back number too. Still welded lugs though.

The movement itself also has the 30T2SC stamped underneath the balance wheel, tried capturing a photo of that too.

Thanks all! Love this new place :)

Yikes - that balance spring needs some work...and I would refrain from running this too much until you get it serviced as it clearly needs one.

    Cheers, Al

This one has the original hands and dial of a CK 2292 (the famous model sold to the RAF during WWII). It could either be one military watch, recased and resold by the Ministry of Defense as they did for a batch, or a civilian one. If you wish to know more precisely its provenance, you can order an extract from Omega museum. Anyway an interesting Watch for collecting.

The military CK2292 had a light alloy case that was brittle, so recasing in steel case was probably a way to improve its solidity for civilian markets.

Here is a picture of my CK2292 (military issued with its original HS8 marking) :

Thank you! That one is in amazing condition! I still can’t believe I found this one at the price I did. I somewhat knew the history behind it but once I received it looked more into the Dennison recasing and reselling. An extract sounds like a good idea. Just recently got into the Omega side of collecting so this find definitely has me happy and excited.

What exactly does this mean? The only official extracts come from Omega. In Switzerland.

Hi there, I haven’t taken mine in yet. I’ll definitely update the post once I do. Your case appears to be the correct one, especially if it has the fixed lugs as mine may have been replaced with a Dennison case with fixed lugs that slightly skews my dial.

The movement is correct since its the 30t2 but to get the exact one it can be located right underneath the balance wheel hidden away. You can see it in my photos. Yours should say 30T2SC.

The one other thing I see is your second hand is a replacement as the tail is not the same.

If I see correctly, the balance has been changed to a more recent one: it should normally be be bimetallic one. Not a big deal if you are not a collector though.
