He passed today. Very sad. First heard Ziggy Stardust when I was a kid at camp and enjoyed his music and showmanship ever since. A serious talent.

Sad news. I get the impression he's not a man who would want to be mourned, but rather remembered with a smile, as a fabulous bastard. Here he is with another fabulous bastard, performing what I think is one of the best songs either of them ever worked on.

A sad day indeed. A large loss to the music industry and music lovers the world over. Bowie is one of the greatest talents the rock era has produced. May he rest in peace.

Really sad news. Here, in his pomp from 43 years ago. To me, the early/mid Seventies were his outstanding years but probably because they coincided with my teenage years.

I'm torn between mourning a great loss and celebrating that a man whose lifestyle in the late 60s and through the 70s was a blaze of drugs and alcohol has lived this long... Thank you for the music!

Age 9 when Eagle landed, didn't get this at the time in retrospect shows how space exploration crossed global boundaries, possibly the only thing that ever did . . .

Yes. That was his real name, David Jones.

He couldn't use it, because Davy Jones of the Monkees claimed it first.
