Did you do any research on the seller before you bought the watch?

Dial sure looks to be a poor refinish.

Rotor has rubbed on the caseback, too.

Not a watch I would go after.

What does your research say and what are your concerns?

That case looks like someone took a industrial sander to it.

I don't want to sound harsh, but why should the seller take it back because of buyers remorse?

The watch was described and photographs were provided for you to make a judgement.

Wait until you get the watch to see what it really is. It may not be as bad as you think.

Not that it is old, but because it is a redial, which means that it might be the original metal disk that came with the watch, but it has been repainted at some point. See the wonky star, for example.

There is a wide span of people on this forum (and everywhere else) who like watches, it's a bit like an army.

The Officers - These are the "Collectors" who only want watches exactly the way they came from the factory half a century ago.

The Sergeants - "collectors" (Small "c"), who collect watches that interest them and that they can afford.

The Privates - Those who simply like vintage mechanical watches and pick up all sorts of things that interest them.

And then there are "The Recruits" - The ones who think it'd be a good idea to have a vintage watch, and then realise what they've done.

i understand what you're saying, thank you.
i really just wanted to know if it was an ok deal or i messed up with the watch.

but since i like the way it sits on my wrist i guess i shouldn't really care...

This was one of the ones I was thinking of buying before I knew anything about pie pans, the people that posted quickly changed my mind. Check this thread out.

Anyways, I'm assuming you got it for $2000usd which is what they quoted me a few months back.

A very very bad price considering it's repainted, redialed - star is wonky, case is quite polished and wrong hands were replaced on the watch.

Sorry mate. If you can still return it, I would suggest to do so. I also suggest to check with pros before you make a large purchase blindly online!

$2,000 should buy you a very good example of that model, not one that has been poorly redialed. The main value of those models is the dial.
