    I'm under the assumption that you bought this watch, so...

    The watch is very real; however the dial has been redone in the past and that was done not so well. An original dial would say 'Seamaster De Ville' on it, as well as Swiss Made on the bottom. Something like this:

    The reason you can tell it's this version is that the case is a monocoque type where the movement can only be extracted from the front (i.e through the crystal.)

    We could say more with the condition, such as polished lugs, replacement crown, non-original crystal etc....
