That's a stolen picture of Buzz Aldrin. What's the TZ member's status that's selling them - is he a dealer?

Just goes under the name of Jurgen. Member of Watchnet since 2007 does not say if he is a dealer. If they were original you would have a picture right!?

Why do you say they can't be original Omega straps? They appear to be still available from Omega...

Jürgen is a pretty reputable dealer of straps - in fact I am a customer as I use his pilot straps on my line of pilot watches, so I doubt he is lying about these....

I'm going to be emailing Omega for some pricing on Monday - I'll get a price on these and see if they are still available - usually if they are not it will tell me on the Omega Extranet....

    Cheers, Al

That's seriously interesting... So its calf underside 50cm in length? That sounds spot on for the NASA strap

I once got an "original OMEGA velcro strap" from Otto Frei, and sent it right back when I saw it. A place called HookandLoop.com allows you to configure velcro cinch straps just like these "official Omega ones " in bulk, works out at about $2 per strap. Here's the actual page.

Compare it with Frank Borman's watch used in many Omega publicity shots, and you can see the strap is reinforced with an olive drab tape.

Very sharp and creative. Definitely better than the plain Omega velcro strap. Giving printed P/N and S/N is a nice touch.

Just curious, how and when would you use it? It will be too big for your wrist, unless you use Space suit.

I don't ever intend to use on earth!

For me, one of the reasons I own a Speedmaster is the history and a feeling of connection to the moon missions. I tried to create these watchbands as close to originals as possible. Having one just like the real ones is just like being another step closer, in a way.

Here's a picture of the slightly shorter watchband -201 used for the cuff checklist.

Kudos for your dedication. Do you set a proper diorama/memorabilia setting for your moon watch?

So he makes these with Omega written on them? Would that not be a fake?

    Cheers, Al
