    Hi all

New to this and recently bought this seamaster cosmic which I love the look of. Every check I do it appears to come out as genuine and am going to take it to a horologist to confirm but wondered if anyone had any concerns based on these pictures. I appears to be in proper working order, is keeping good time, has a quick set date. The only thing I would say is that the serial number on the back looks like it was etched in a different manner to the logo etc, it is fainter and thinner. Serial number is 136017-TOOL 107

Thanks in advance for any help!

The printing on the dial looks quite thick to me, I would think it may be a redial. Perhaps some closer, clearer shots of the printing on the dial would help. Also, is there some strange reflection on the hour markers? the 1-2-4-5 look like they are half white and half black, and all the other look only black?

The engraving on the back is the tool you use to open the watch since it is a monocoque case, and the movement comes out the front. The reference of the watch is on the inside caseback.

I don't see anything to suggest an out and out fake. The case has certainly been way over polished and the dial looks too good to be true ..i'm wondering about the stick on logo..it raises questions (redial?) .The only way in to see the serial number (not the model ref number) is to pop the glass off, and get in that way. You'll probably find a cal 565 movement..which is a bit of a classic! .You sure you want to do this? These are fairly common Omega watches and are at the lower spectrum of value and collectability..you can get good quality vintage ones with more uncommon dials and original bracelets (if you're lucky) for around 275-400 Euros.
That said, I have a soft spot for Cosmics and I also like the design.

Thanks very much for the information! I have attached another photo which shows the markers without reflection.

Thanks very much indeed for your reply! Yes it could potentially be a redial as it seems in too good a condition. I may take to get it checked out but also as you say I like the look of it, it keeps great time and wasn’t ludicrously expensive so may just wait until it’s first service to find out

    Thanks
