    Hi All
First time poster and first time watch photographer so - please be gentle!

I inherited this watch from my uncle a long time ago and would love to know something about it. My feeling is that its a fake or 'very' renovated as the numbers in the case are hand engraved and there doesn't seem to be any numbers stamped on the movement itself except '1130' stamped in a very tucked in position. Certainly doesn't look like any Seamaster I can find on the web.

The only reason I ask is that my uncle wasn't the sort to have a fake watch and I have a service record card from a well know London jewelers.

    Numbers I can find are
    Back of Watch - 16237
Inside Back Case - Inscription Hand engraved '19.10.81 Rusty'
    - '121 885' then either '175A' or 'A5A' and the numbers '989' below

Photos of back cover, inside back cover Face and Movement

Your watch photographing skills are nothing to be ashamed of!

The watch, on the other hand… ;)

The fact that it is always an uncle fascinates me.
    - do they give their real watches to their kids/grandkids and the fakes to their nephews? Or
    - the type of people who buy these watches are the type who end up without kids? So the watch goes to the nephew?

Isn't there a future phd-student in socio-horology here in need of a research project.

In defence of the uncles, it should be noted that my own uncle has a couple of Omegas - none which are fake (until I inherit them perhaps )

@CanberraOmega Think many a nephew have a fake uncle and want too know how much the watch they just knocked off is worth..

Perhaps it's a cultural thing. As an American, if I were trying to get info without having to do any work, I would probably say I inherited it from my father or grandfather, in an effort to get you to believe my story.

I'm certainly no expert. However I only got as far as the Omega logo on the dial and knew it was a fake :(

LOL - Thanks for the comments

As it happens my Uncle left a load of other stuff in a safe box when he died that definitely wasn't fake so I guess you win some you lose some...
