What would be considerd appropriate pricing for a 145.022 w/861 movement from 1968? I've decided this is the speedmaster that I am interested in and I'd like to know what I'm working with. I realize condition is key, but looking for a general average. I have a 5513 that I'm going to sell, possibly trade for cash for the correct speedmaster. Any help would be appreciated.

I meant to add, I do not need a bracelet as I have one from my seamaster.

 

I'm a big 68 fan and recently picked up two in the last 6 months. I purchased the heads only and both were in very good shape mechanically and appearance wise. One was $1950 and the other $2450. I keep and eye out for them and I would say they can run between $2400-$2700 but I have seen them go for a bit higher.

Here are my two and you can see side by side they are two distinctly different watches.

 

Those are very nice, exactly what I am looking for. It appears that the patina on the hands do not match that of the plots. Is that from the pictures or do you know if the hands have been changed out?

Also, besides here,watchrecon, and the bay.....is there a better source I should be looking at?

The 68' on the right has been cleaned polished and fully overhauled. The hands are new. The one on the left is all original and a real early 68'/861. My picture skills never capture the color of the hands and plots well but they are slightly discolored and match. It has recently been sent to Al Archer for service.

 

I should have been more specific, I was referring to the one on the right. Still though, very nice example. (Both are)!! Well I better get my 5513 on the boards this weekend. Thanks for the input.
