·Up for sale is this beautiful and hard to find 1950s LeCoultre Calendar Disc with gorgeous original dial in ultra-desirable fancy lug solid 14k yellow gold square case. This classic dress watch features LeCoultre's in-house manual wind caliber 810/A, an ingenuous date complication displayed via Memovox-like turntable disc pointer and with quickset function via a button in the crown. These LeCoultre Calendar Discs are usually found in round cases and often in gold fill so this solid gold square example is doubly rare. Add to that the difficulty of finding an original dial in such Near Mint condition and the exceptionally sharp condition of the case and it all makes for a very special watch for the sophisticated gentleman or sexy, confident lady. Overall, this striking Calendar Disc is in Excellent+ all-original vintage condition and it has just been fully overhauled by my NYC Master Watchmaker. It will come with a 6-month movement guarantee for all normal, non-abusive use.
The asking price for this stunning 1950s LeCoultre Calendar Disc is now DROPPED to $2550 USD OBRO, which includes fully insured worldwide FedEx shipping. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Bank Wire preferred. Paypal instant transfer is also OK with split fees (+2% to the buyer). Other payment options upon application.
CASE & BACK: Not a large watch but one with outstanding wrist presence, this fancy lugged 14k square case measures 36mm long x 30mm wide at its widest and longest and a chunky 12mm tall to the top of the crystal. The case shows little if any polish and only light marks from 50+ years of wear, easily Excellent+ vintage condition with nice sharp details. The external snap in caseback is also very clean with only the most minor marks, likewise Excellent+ cosmetic condition. It is dedication-free and correctly hallmarked for 14k solid gold, as well as the U.S. case maker D&A (DiVicenczo & Arienti, I believe).
DIAL & HANDS: Beautiful and all original factory printed silver dial with applied gold dagger markers, printed black minute ticks, blue days of the month and inner rotating disc with black date pointer triangle. The dial is very bright and clean and shows only a few small age-related spots to the satin finish--stunning Near Mint condition. The small bit of asymmetry to the double "12" markers seems to be characteristic of these dials and could be due to shifting a bit through the years.Elegant slender "sword & dagger"-style hands and baton sweep seconds are also Near Mint. Simply a rare and beautiful original vintage LeCoultre dial layout!
CROWN: Correct unsigned gold crown winds the movement and pulls out to the time-setting position as it should. It also features an ingenious quickset button that sits flush in the center for rapidly advancing the date pointer with one's fingernail and this also works perfectly.
CRYSTAL: Thick arched acrylic crystal perfectly completes the line of the upturned bezel and has only the most minor marks from wear--easily Near Mint.
MOVEMENT: Seldom seen LeCoultre caliber 810/A manual winding movement with quickset calendar complication and indirect sweep seconds all functioning well and keeping good time. Normally I would open the case to take pictures of the movement but this one is just too tough for an amateur like me to get open and I don't wish to damage it. Guaranteed to be a correct 810/A under the hood and the movement has also just been fully overhauled and so will come with a 6-month guarantee for all normal non-abusive use.
STRAP: This great Calendar Disc comes on a new Hadley-Roma brown leather strap with lizard finish and gold plated buckle. This watch takes surprisingly wide 20mm straps.
I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form.
This great vintage LeCoultre is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund (less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer). This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.
Thanks for looking,
