right but you look at all the other dials, and the fact that someone looking at it straight up life would believe it is a blue dial...it just doesn't seem that a discoloration would be that even on a dial that is otherwise on a pristine watch.

I have seen many black dials PHOTOGRAPH blue, specially through with acrylic crystals. Not so many look blue life to that degree, and not when all the watches next to it have accurate colors.

But, If it is that the dial has turned blue with time then it's a first for me on this model.

I agree. My guess is that it's more likely been redialed or it's a strange dial that Rolex produced like the albino Daytonas, Submariners and Explorers. I wish there was a better picture to compare the fonts.

"I wish there was a better picture"..... Seems like that should be written under the OP's user name 😉

Interesting. Anyway: I'd not trust an average AD with vintage stuff let alone with very rare vintage stuff.

I just can say: what a collection. But the owner seems to achive prices that might be valid in a year or two. Presuming the increase goes on...

You are right about his prices which is on the high side. However, I just got a call and he has lowered his price but I am not biting. I gave him my final offer for the Milgauss and it seems like he will accept it. He promised to get back to me is a couple of days.

In my opinion the 1019 is a difficult watch. If you really like it and you want to keep it, I would go for it. If you are not sure and want to try out and maybe resell, I'd be cautious. Because the market for the 1019 is much thinner than for Subs and GMTs for example. On top of that they are in a price region that is normally not reached by collectors who want to add some nice RLXs to their collcetion. So finding a new owner a strong price is much more difficult. Just my 2cents...

I had the opportunity to be offered several rare Rolex watches from a private collector who has decided to concentrate only on the Patek Philippe brand. We met at his residence and was gracious enough to show me his fantastic watch collection. However, I was only allowed to take pictures of the Rolex watches that he wants to dispose off as follows:

Rolex Comex 5514

Rolex Milgauss 1019

He still has a few more that he will dispose off at a later time namely: Rolex 6542, Rolex 6538, Rolex 6511, Rolex 5517 and Rolex Commando. He wanted a lot sale but I am negotiating for a minimum of 3 watches as a package deal. He will get back to me in a few days. Hopefully we can work out something.
What a predicament to be in...

Awesome collection... Perhaps, when selling one or two watches, he can afford a new box with all the pillows in the same color 😁.

We have agreed on the price for the Milgauss already (from $26k to $21K) but are at loggerheads on the other watch which is the DRSDl. He will not agree to a single watch purchase and his minimum is at least 2. I am just biding my time and hopefully he will call soon and accept also my offer for the DRSD. I really wanted the 5512 Tropical but at $45k, its too much. I countered $35 and he just laughed.

So the Milgauss is really blue in real life?

No its black. The crystal has discolored which caused the dial to look blue which is just fine with me.
