Is it just me or does anyone else get excited by beautiful and rare old parts?

I seem to get more excited about rare parts as I have less rare watches that I want to collect.

What's the story behind the Flightmaster dial that looks like a Railmaster/SM300/Ranchero style?

Very cool, I have seen the one below on eBay before, but assumed it was a total fabrication. Must be a service part for the real deal. Yours is much nicer! :)

So if a pristine DON bezel is $3,000 (suitable for a 2998-3 thru 145.012-68 and 145.022-68)
A pristine Base 1000 bezel is probably $15,000+ (suitable for a late 2915-3, thru 2998-2)
How much is Ash's pristine STEEL Base 1000 bezel worth??? (suitable for a 2915-1 thru early 2915-3)

Petit correction, early 2915-3 with broad arrow hands and silver bezel never happened.2915-3 introduced Alpha hands and BASE1000 bezel,AMEN.

Actually we are both a bit wrong. Early 2915-3 had broad arrow hands (as the 1 & 2) and the new black base 1000 bezel.

Production numbers of (TRUE 2915-3) are so small and precise...will see.

Anyway, it really doesn't matter that much.

My original question remains open. I believe there are members with viable 2915-1 or 2 and replica bezels. How much would the value of their pieces increase with the real McCoy? And a pristine one at that. $50,000 value increase for a complete 2915-1?? Would they be a buyer of this bezel at $30,000?. Opinions?
