    Hi guys,

For your consideration is a really rare chronograph I purchased from a well known French collector. This watch is a Chronofix Type 222, that was produced before the Type 20 specification had been issued by the French government.

The previous owner of the watch had it very recently serviced and cleaned since it was in bad condition. The hands had been re-lumed in this process, and if you notice closely in the hour hand, there is a slight loss of lume plots.

The case is chrome based; it's hard to find mint chrome cases... so just FYI.

The movement is a valjoux 22 with an added flyback. The watch was, as stated, serviced recently, and functions perfectly. Chronograph resets to 0 without issues.

On the caseback, you will see the 3 stars of Cetehor.

The cathedral style handset, from my understanding, is correct based on the last image I provide below -- a specification document for these watches that I found in conversation with other French collectors. Also, I've found a few other examples of this watch that share this. You can see this article, where there's a similar watch towards the bottom: http://dondellinger.com/mipiace/index.php?post/2009/10/24/Type-20-22

Also if you just search "#type222" on instagram you'll find other examples. Just ignore the ones by my account (@a_shishy).

I had posted this watch previously in other forums. My new price, after re-evaluating, is $3,200 USD net to me including shipping. I am open to offers, and potentially to trades, involving Speedmasters, or a Seiko 6105, or anything cool. Will of course adjust cash as necessary. Would prefer cash, though.

I can ship internationally via FedEx/ParcelPro.

I am located in the DC area, and welcome a face to face deal. I have plenty of references buying/selling via OF, MWR, CT, WUS, etc. and will gladly provide all of them if you need more.

Unless the watch is super misrepresented I'm not going to accept returns so if there are any questions you have, please do ask and I'll gladly provide (or find) the answer.

Upon purchase, I will provide the movement serial number (that I got from the previous owner).

I have not taken a picture of the movement myself, but the previous owner provided a video of the movement running. I'm not sure if I can post that since it wasn't something I took...
