Random watch + general pics with m43

I thought I'd create this thread to show some "live" pics from watch meet-ups that I've attended. Meaning, there really wasn't much (any) time to stage the shot.

The dual purpose is to mention that all my pics are taken with a m43 camera (usually my Panny GX9) with either a vintage Vivitar (Komine) macro or the Voigtlander 42.5mm f/0.95 manual lens. And that the m43 system is very, very flexible.

N.B. The APS-C and FF systems are also very capable systems. There just doesn't seem to be many photos taken with m43 bodies.

Thanks for indulging me.

Really like the tone and focus separation. Any one of these with the f/0.95 wide open?

The 2nd and 3rd Hermes pics are wide open. A few others might be (the Lange and Doxa?) but the Voigtlander doesn't provide any EXIF data so I have to go by memory. 🙁 Lovely characteristic "soft and dreamy" Voigtlander rendering.

Just demonstrating the low light flexibility of the Voigtlanders. This one is with the 17.5mm f/0.95 lens.

Also taken with a Panny GX9 and Voigtlander 42.5mm f/0.95.

In Vancouver, there are quite a few cherry blossom trees. What's not as well known, is that cherry blossoms in different parts of the city will bloom at different times. One of the earliest bloomers are the cherry blossoms downtown. It's been a great few days so I decided to take my camera with me to my office today and took a few snaps.

Of course, the cherry blossoms. I went during lunch and there were quite a few people taking pics.

While I was at it, I took a walk around to look for some interesting photos. I had a couple of ND filters with me, so..... why not use them?

I call this one the "Hanging Gardens of Babylon".

I didn't even realize the steps were painted like this.

And, this street performer. Hand signals made to make sure he was kosher with me taking a pic of him.

A few more pics taken with the Voigtlander. I bumped into 2 other photogs walking around - one from Oregon and the other from Seattle. I mentioned they (kind of) just missed cherry blossom season!

Enjoy the photo essay.

NB. The B&W photo was a hand held 1 sec shot with 2 NDs (for 16 stops) stacked. It was a bright day!
