    Hi

I've been going through the Watch box and currently looking at a '58 Omega Ranchero with the cal 267....is it truly rare ? Good 2913's , 4's and 5's yes....but a really good Ranchero ?

I think the problem is there are just so many examples around which are either damaged , incorrect , put together or just fakes it dilutes the real thing.

My one has the correct Broad arrow hands and dial plus the ultra rare Semi-expandable 7077/4 fitted which I think makes it that extra bit special....

Pics to follow if anyone's interested....

    Best - Neil

    Neil,
They can't be rare, look on eBay there are hundreds in India alone :)

I am sure interested in pics please.

Depends on what you consider rare. I think a nice ranchero is uncommon. Rare for me are things like a near mint all original 2915 or an original platinum case early constellation - I think the word "rare" is quite overused.

All I know for sure is that I need a correct sub-second hand and crown!

I don't think these were really rare when new. In fact, as the lowest priced men's Omega at the time, I'm sure they were quite popular.

Perhaps it is the similarity to the early Railmaster and Seamaster 300 (both of which are legitimately rare) that creates a lot of the demand for the watch?

What makes that SM300 in the photo special is it has a NOS bezel - not a redone one. And to this day I still regret not getting that 2913.

    Hi

That's not quite my understanding as they were only produced for a very short time due to the very poor sale figures of the Watch.

I think overall 'uncommon' fits better than 'rare'....however in this case I would also consider the condition of the individual watch :D
