So I've recently acquired this Ranchero - 267 movement and serial number, dial, hands case seem genuine (but please tell me otherwise!) One of the spring bars was the usual type and came out easy. The other one doesn't look like a spring bar it seems fixed, or at least tightly wedged in, or perhaps it's on odd spring bar I've never come across (last photo) Can anyone please tell me if Rancheros had spring bars or fixed bars? Sorry to ask, I've googled but can't find the answer...thought I should ask before I get the dremel out....
Can you nip it in the middle with a pair of plier cutters? I've done that with a few, they fold right in the middle, quite soft.
I'm far from an expert on these but was wondering if the OP's dial is kosher? It looks attractive to my eyes but I notice there's a tiny extra flourish to the "e" in Ranchero. Am I just being overly critical? I hope to acquire a nice example in the near future.
Appears to be a spring bar without flanges or shoulders. The dreaded pain in the ass model If it turns. It's not fixed Top one DON
Springbars for the Ranchero Mohi. I think the dial is aftermarket unfortunately. Hands aren't correct either.
Thanks - disappointing of course, but it was cheap enough and in a job lot, hence why I took the risk... I'll wear it for a while to see if I like it enough to hunt down a real one...now to see if I can get that bar off...
