Nice Ranchero at European Watch Company. No pricing yet. They usually pad their prices quite above market.
I know little about these watches besides that they are quite rare in good condition. Comments?

Note: I'm not affiliated with this store. I occasionally browse through their selection.

Hard to find correct Rancheros. Many have lost their original dial and/or hands or are revamped Seamasters.
This one appears correct to my early morning eyes. 16xxx, 267 caliber movement is correct
Good time to buy before the 60th anniversary Ranchero comes out next year :D

EWC is a great trusted brick and mortar store and living in the Boston area gives one a great opportunity to actually see a lot of vintage watches. Fun place to shop, but you pay for the service and convenience.

I agree this looks correct, only with a replacement crown (correct ones can be found). It appears to even still have some of the brushing on the side of the case.

I am bothered by the one plate that seems clearly a different color. Also, was told by EWC that serial is 18xxxxx, not 16.
If so, I don't believe that is correct

EWC ad says it is a 16xxxxx movement number???? Is the ad incorrect??

"Omega Vintage 2990-1 Ranchero Black Dial, 2990 1, 29901, this watch was only made for roughly 2 years, stainless steel on a steel omega 1036 bracelet, manual wind Omega movement caliber 267, subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock, original black dial with beautifully aged radium markers, inscribed "WATERPROOF" on the case back, 16 mil movement serial (circa 1958), water resistant, diameter: 36mm, Thickness: 9.7mm, Excellent Condition for a very rare watch, and comes with European Watch Company Pouch and 6 Month Warranty."

I'm no 1950's caliber expert but it seems that caliber 268 (the 267 successor I presume) are found in the 17xxxx range. I'd be surprised to find a cal 267 as high as the 18xxx range.

FWIW, 18xxxx is also too high a movement number for the next (and last as they only lasted 2 years) generation of Ranchero's, the 2996-1, center seconds, Caliber 284.

Maybe they told me wrong serial over the phone. Does that different color plate bother you??

Yes, 18M seems too high, my cal 268 Ranchero has 17.4M serial and the archive extract dates it to August 1960.

Hard to say for sure about the color. Could be the light, camera angle. Screws look unmolested. And it is a 60 year old watch!

Just from my observations, a 18XXX serial is likely too high to be in a 2990 Ranchero. Would have been nice to have an extract.

With this seller, I expect the advertised asking price to be in the "ridiculous" range.

I think you are in the ball park. I am thinking 10,000-12,000$ range, but would not be surprised if it listed higher.
As a reference, this Ranchero is listed by another dealer:
    http://www.db1983.com/the-collection/omega-ranchero-ck-2990-1-us-air-force-1959
It's been on their website for a very long time and I believe that it was previously listed for 14,000 Euro (which IMO explains why its been listed for so long).

Knowing what we know about this watch, what would be a market realistic price?

Correction, they will not list it at a realistic price. Who knows what they will sell it for given the right offer.

That was my point. What would be a realistic offer?

I just found an exceptional one for high 7's US.

The EWC example has a questionable plate and wrong crown.
IMHO they won't take those issues into account the way they should.

I'm sure @gemini4 is more savvy to prices on these.

Do you consider that market price?
