Ranchero 2996 hands query

Hello everyone,

I have a question on my Ranchero, this is the lesser “loved” variant 2996 (jk but noticing that majority of threads cover ref. 2990).

I am looking for a new set of hour and minute hands and would greatly appreciate the forum’s knowledge on this matter:

1. For those who have owned or measured both references, are there noticeable differences in overall hand lengths (hour/minute) or in the height/proportions of the hands between the 2996 and 2990?

2. Noting that the two references bear different movements (2990 have a cal. 267 while 2996 have been equipped with both 284 and 285 calibers) does anyone know if there are specific hands to be sourced depending not only if the reference but also in the caliber (ie different hands between cal 284 & cal 285)?

Of course I am sharing some pictures of the watch, the last ones are the most recent, the first ones are from my watchmaker while he was working on it, the dial and hands have been and the crown swapped (i received it with the one in the first picture), any comment as to the condition is welcome of course.

This is very useful, I guess now the outstanding question is: any differences in terms of hour and minute hands' length/shape between ref 2990 and ref 2996, has anyone any info on that?

I had seen threads in the past where the minute hand had longer lume on the 2996 compared to the 2990

I bought this hour hand from mikeswatchparts on eBay for 40USD two years ago , he sells a lot of original Omega parts and had a couple of others since . (Don’t look at the minute and sec they are from cousins uk , i have stop searching for originals . )
