First your three Seamaster 300s in another thread, now two railroad track Constellations. On bracelets...

I vote for a ban on @cristos71, effective immediately.

You're forgetting about his 2652s earlier this week. If he's banned the forum will lose half its content. I vote to force a selloff instead! 馃槣

Well, it didn't cost the earth, and although it's definitely dirty, I love the (dis)colouration on the dial.

I'll see how a new crystal improves matters.....

Thanks for everyone's input and please feel free to comment if anyone has anything extra to add, good or bad.

A few examples already shared in this thread so I'm wondering how rare/uncommon are these. This seems like a good example in need of a clean and service. My concerns are.....dirt or corrosion at 4 o'clock on the bezel and movement parts have different patina.
Opinions please.....

Bezel can be restored, rotor is rubbing though, nice-well decent over all.

These dials are uncommon but like anything else, it's about the condition (this one has the original factory strap and buckle too):

I think the dial is original, but was subjected to a very harsh cleaning that removed the silvering on the minutes track.

The fonts look correct to me, the Swiss Made is where it should be and the gut says it looks right.

Then again, as @MSNWatch pointed out, condition is everything with these watches, so price it accordingly.

Thanks for all the comments and images. With all the examples shown this doesn't feel rare or uncommon so will pass this time. Marcus

Reverting to the watch which was the original subject of this thread, it seems from the macro pics of the minute track that the misalignment at 10 and 11 is mostly due to camera angle. In any case - as has been said before on this forum - vintage Omega dials aren't always geometrically perfect. Back then these were tools for telling the time, people weren't scrutinising every fraction of a mm through a glass like they do today and a margin of error was evidently deemed acceptable. I vote 100% original for that dial.

I'd say @Banner Roar 's example is original as well.

Regarding mine, I'm still not sure, but the poor crystal doesn't help matters. It's been stuck in a drawer since I started this thread, but will hopefully go off for a service and new crystal at some point so I can get a better look. If/when I get around to changing the crystal, I'll update the thread....

Hmmm
I was looking at that one too.
Looks great
But
No graining on the dial
And no silvered track.
So the jury鈥檚 out for me.

Will be interested in what others more knowledgable think

I can assure you the vertical lines are on that dial (albeit feint), as it's the same watch that started this thread, although I'm no longer the owner.

I think the service/restoration is very well done though, and is pretty much in line with what I would have done had I got around to it.

I don鈥檛 think that鈥檚 the same case though. Compare the scratches on the 11 lug.

What are your views on this one?

An amazing watch. Lots of information in OF on it. It鈥檚 time our newer members start putting their own ideas and opinions into play .... instead of asking what others think.

Knowing owner of the watch, an upstanding member, chances are op already knows everything about it. It鈥檚 an amazing watch.

Or else, the seller would not have posted it for sale at eBay.
