I offer for sale a 1974 Bulova Accutron 214 Railroad Approved watch. This watch was serviced in 2020 by an Accutron specialist. However, the watch runs slightly slow and could use regulation. It loses a minute or two over a few weeks. I can provide evidence of service if requested. The crystal was replaced with a generic one that has box profile rather than rounded (see photos). There is a faint mark on the dial above the L in Bulova and a few stray dots which are really only noticeable under magnification (see photos). The battery compartment was opened improperly and the "coin" slot was marred. This can be seen in the photo and is only cosmetic damage. Photos document condition, so please look carefully. I have tried to point out every flaw, but the watch is in overall good condition. Case is sharp and shows some signs of honest wear. I will include a spare leather strap (not the one pictured), but consider this a head only sale. Asking: $400 usd via Paypal F&F shipped in the continental US, elsewhere shipping can be discussed. I have limited selling experience, but can provide some references on request.
Love that dial. I wish I knew enough about Accutrons to lend you a suggestion regarding the error in timekeeping.
I don't think it was perfectly regulated in the service, and has been slightly off since I got it back. It can be regulated without too much challenge: http://members.iinet.net.au/~fotoplot/accmain.htm I imagine most buyers would expect it to be spot on, so it is important to disclose.
Finding one of these with a recent service is rare- for those that don’t know, There are only a handful of watchmakers left in the world who have the specialized tools, parts and expertise to work on these.
