Big price difference between those 2. So if you can afford it go for the LE

Liked both in pics. Then tried both and went for the 57' anniversary edition without any doubt/regret. So I would advise you to try them on. The curved glass on the 57' edition and the changing dial colour depending on light (black, brown or grey) is really what made me prefer this watch.

60th for me. That new crosshair dial does nothing for me. The trilogy edition is so spot on to the original (barring movement and crystal), I much prefer it to the new design. The Railmaster is a true strap monster too; goes with almost any strap option!

Well, every thread needs pictures, right?

For the me Railmaster 60th LE is the classy / elegant option and if it was a watch I was just going to look at in a glass cabinet it would be the clear choice...it truly looks like a gorgeous museum piece of 50s design. The blue dial Railmaster is more jovial, does not have the fauxtina, more discreet crosshair on the dial, and I think fits better for a casual lifestyle. Can't go wrong with either, but you might also want to look at the Tudor BB58 as another 3-hander no-date option before pulling the trigger.

Do you mean only new? If not, I'd definitely go 2500 in either 36.2mm or 39.2mm:

FYI, if you're interested, I just noticed that @mdgrwl has a brand spanking new 1957 Railmaster trilogy FS in the Watches for Sale forum (not posting the link because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to sales here, but it was bumped today, so easy to find).

At this price point you also have Rolex explorer and OP 39 as 3 hander options. If you are not limited to railmaster then maybe think about these.

Of the ones you mention, the 60th for sure - but buy at a discount if you can.

Yep, I'm not convince these new models are a better choice than the previous version.

Thanks (and keep the opinions coming!) - really very helpful. I had thought that the 1957 was hard to find, but it looks to be generally available, even on the Omega e-shop. I really hadn't focused on the 1957 but that is one charming piece (and yes, the BB58 is also on my short list)!

My vote goes to the 60th anniversary Railmaster with its near identical copy of the original version in a coaxial movement. You get the best of both worlds!

So the 1957 trilogy railmaster does not use a co-axial movement?

The 60th anniversary one? It does have a co-axial movement; it just doesn’t say the words “co-axial” on the dial. Those words are on the case back, if memory serves.

If I could find this model and size selling at a non crazy person price I'd hop on it fast. As a railroader, the railmaster is what drove me to omega and I've been hooked ever since.
