Railmaster: Hearing rumours..

I came pretty close to buying one a few years ago, but thought the fauxtina would annoy me after awhile. I like the all brushed surface. If they added a micro adjust and maybe a date, it would probably be very popular. A non-polished, non-shiny model could do well - look at the interest in the Swiss Army Seamaster last year.

This would do for me

Less dial text, manual to thin down the case. Should fit nicely in a 38mm case. Oh, and at least 5mm micro-adjust on the clasp.
Love this. But 8800 instead of 8900 for me (I like a thinner case).

That's why I sold my otherwise fabulous LE '57 Railmaster. Loved the watch but that just annoyed the crap out of me. If it weren't a limited edition, I would have had it relumed. As it was, I sold it.

The bracelet was also way too chunky. I only kept mine for a month before moving it on.

I didn't mind the bracelet. It did have an adjustable clasp.

Is there any know timeframe when the Railmaster, AT, or PO, will be updated or is it all speculation at this point? Apologies in advance if this is known information. Enjoy the weekend everyone!

It is about time that Omega came up with a High Speed Railmaster

Get it?!
Bad joke, especially here in California.

Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad marketing idea to strap one of the RMs to the bottom of a maglev train. Reminds me of that time Omega stuck a Seamaster to the outside of a plane in the 50s.

I suspect the PloProf will be updated before any of these, but back to the “new” Railmaster.

Dials aside (which I dislike), the case also has problems. There was no need for Omega to make it so slab-sided;

if that’s your thing you probably prefer Tudor or Rolex anyway.

Omega can do way better than this, indeed they nailed it with the ‘57; thinner mid-case, domed box crystal, thinner bezel etc

As is, the modern Railmaster looks like an ashtray: in case of emergency, break glass.

And finally, making it manual would also allow for a shallower caseback further lowering the wrist profile. Although not quite a fair comparison you can see how this works when the Speedmaster Silver Snoopy with rear complication is compared to the new Chronoscope in profile

It’s a pity that Omega sold the rights to the name Flightmaster because that old FAP version of the Railmaster is still high on my grail list.

Oh well, maybe one day, in the meantime I wish you all a relaxing Sunday.

Nailed it there.

Make the hands painted white instead of polished steel for legibility and it would be a stone cold classic.

I'm really hoping for a good redesign on the Railmaster. I'm not a fan of the vertical graining of the dial. Maybe a dial similar to the NTTD Seamaster 300 could help improve the design imo
