just got my Railmaster back from service! It was off at the Miami Service Center for exactly 6 weeks. I must say, I am very impressed with the service I received. The watch looks brand spankin new. The bracelet is pristine. We will how well it keeps time, but so far so good. Really happy to have it home. Only issue is that I hate to have to decide which to wear each morning, this or my speedy. Good problem to have I suppose!

 We don't see too many of these around here. This RM has a great looking dial - it has been said that this model gives a good competition for those looking at the Explorer I, and I'm sure many choose the RM as a way to stretch their bang for the buck! BTW, you don't see many of these in the pre-owned market either, maybe an indication that owners are very happy with the watch!

@Archer, from a watchmaker's perspective, what's your take in terms or reliability and maintainability on the movement of these modern RM?

    Pretty standard co-axial stuff - it's a 2500 just without the date.

    Cheers, Al

Thanks---so, did the 2403 caliber suffer the same issues as the first generation of 2500s? are there different variants for the 2403 too? A-D??

Yes, same issues. The 2403A is equivalent to a 2500B, and the 2403B is like a 2500C. The 2403B is the latest revision of the movement made. There is no version equivalent to the 2500D with a 3 level escapement, so both the A and B are 2 level.

I have not been collecting watches very long. This Railmaster was my first high end watch. After I got it, I sent it for service. While it was away I got the itch for a Speedy Pro and picked one up and have been wearing it every day for the last month. I love the Speedy, BUT, wearing the Railmaster all day today, there is just something special about it to me. I have a feeling this is my favorite of the two and will get the most wrist time as the simplicity of the dial just fits me. The problem is that I really do also love the Speed and i don't want to put it up in favor of the Railmaster! How will I ever b OK wil wearing one over the other and leaving one in a drawer???

Hasn't left my wrist since arrival. Think I'll throw it on a strap for the work week.

Tried it on a brand new custom strap I just picked up, I absolutely love it. I think this strap has found a permanent home.

I love my RM. It wears the original Omega leather strap with deployment buckle. Very good at keeping time as well. Enjoy yours. Seeing your bracelet make me want to put one on mine. I may have to start looking for one!

Hi. Where did you get the strap? I want a navy blue one.
