"Hello Sir Thank you for your insight, and i respect your option not to try to buy the watch. Regards Nix" (After asking about the movement number, getting the same response gemini4 posted, and pointing out that people will pay more if they know more.) Edit: I still like the look of the watch, but this one is not for me, though I would like to pick one up some day ).
Welcome to Shill City! http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=292084914859&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Well if I was winning bidder 4***a I would be a little concerned that someone has just shill bid my buying price up somewhat
Seller is a real winner. Won't disclose the movement number. Shill bidding at it's finest. Look at his remaining auction. I would be very interested in knowing what the movement number is now the bidding has ended !!! something tells me we will see this watch up for sale very soon.
I guarantee you that the "winning" bidder is one of the seller's shill accounts as well as the other 2 bidders o***b (6) & m***h (3). He just bumped up the bids hoping some sucker will come in last second with a bid higher than $21,300 (He was probably looking for at least $21,500...). Well, that never happened so I hope he enjoys his new/old watch!
Same watch really except for the missing sea monster on the "1" BUT the "1", along with the 2915-1 and 2913-1 is a trilogy watch so there is a premium for the "1" For comparison, look at the Speedmaster101.com values for the 2915-1 vs the 2915-3. Small differences regarding the caseback, bezel and perhaps the hands but basically the same watch made 1 year later, 1957 vs 1958 Reference Running Good Collector 2915-1*** – 55000 70000 120000 2915-2*** – 40000 60000 95000 2915-3*** – 18500 31000 50000
Plus, it had a good dial, really sharp case and a good condition 7077 on single notch no6's still with the original, "lever" springbars. I.e. a great one owner watch and really hard to find.
Wow. Yeah, that auction really got hit hard with Bay shills. Jesus. I really hope 4***a (63) wasn't a legit buyer or he just got screwed out of ~ $10k. Yikes.
How do you deduce that? I'm not saying it isn't true, but I wonder what indicates this to be the case.
Low-feedback bidders walk the price up all the time, so I don't think that's evidence of a shill. Tom
we will see. my Railmaster/Flightmaster FAP with omega excerpts will be on the bay soon. kind regards. achim
