What are you're thoughts on this listing, how much does the relumed hands etc. ruin the value of this watch in the eyes of serious watch collectors like some of you guys on this forum? http://www.ebay.de/itm/VINTAGE-1957...700?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f4806acfcPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I know of this watch and finding a 2914-1 is somewhat of a challenge in any condition let alone original as this one is, although the hands have been re-lumed they have been done well, the dial is original, case, case back etc in excellent original condition and the movement is very clean. This is one of the original 1957 holy trinity so I would expect this to go for big money
Its a very wearable piece too when you think about it, the movement is dirt cheap to maintain and has a world of parts unlike a 321 Speedy, you can make it quite reasonably water resistant with little effort and its built like a tank.
Oh no, cats out of the bag. I've been watching this one too. Love the hands. The next owner will be happy!
Would be interesting to see what the first owner got for this watch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-VINT...578?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item487af43732Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Also appears that the relume of the hands have been done very recently, or have the hands been replaced?
I am really glad that I bought railmasters/ seamasters at the right time when the price was somewhere around $3000. Great watch to wear with right kind of bracelet.
not soon, I`m afraid. unless you want to wait till the end of the year and buy at auction. I might be forced by the family court for a divorce settlement to sell everything incl. railmaster normal with orig. band, railamster "seamaster PAF" military, railmaster "flightmaster FAP" military and prototype white dial railmaster for Canada. we will see. and many other very rare omegas as well..... basically findings from the last 20 years. kind regards. achim
