One of the watches I kept back from an inherited collection, just needed a new strap and a bit of a clean, do you think the scratches on the crystal are too deep to be polished out? 943FC7F7-B508-4165-8756-78C9F60C306C.jpeg

It is very hard to tell from this picture how deep the scratched go.

    Lovely watch though.

Thanks, they are diagonal scuffs running from the 24-3 hour marks, would it be something I could try myself with a watch face polish compound or is it absolutely a professional job?

Lots on polishing out deep scars here on OF ... there is a point however where a visit to the watchmaker for a service and crystal replacement is in order.

Hard to tell from the pictures how bad the scratches are, but it's probably workable with something like Novus. What would give me pause is the bezel and trying to keep polishing compound from messing with the bezel finish. If the crystal isn't signed, I'd just replace it.

Thanks all, i'll give it a careful try with Novis and if not have the crystal replaced.
