Hi all, I will like to find out if the 30T2 can be easily serviced by the average watchmaker or do I have to send it in to Omega for servicing? Looking at this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Rar...040432562?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3f1b44c9b2Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Not too sure if I should go for it and will like to seek opinions. The dial is too crisp to be true. I am thinking it may not be original so am seeking for advice.
I can't comment on the dial, but a good watchmaker should be able to work on it. I know some watchmakers aren't too fond of working on the bumper movements though.
The 30T2 is a pretty straightforward hand wind movement which should offer no challenge to a competent watchmaker. Based on the overall excellent condition of the watch I would say the dial is quite likely original.
My watchmaker services bumpers so I guess this should be quite straightforward then. If all is good, looks like I may give this a shot Thanks.
This is a true NOS watch that has recently been serviced by the original seller. No worries here but the reserve is high and the seller is very firm on it.
I've never seen those fonts in an Omega of this vintage, so if the dial is really original, it's quite unusual. Mike, have you ever seen a dial quite like this one?
I own one that is more aged than this one - I know the original source of the watch and it is beyond reproach. Here is my much more aged version:
Ah, thanks! Very nice, even your aged one... And perhaps (while the photo is available) we should add that of the auction:
^ Thanks for that, I like it when we have copies of interesting / unique watches from eBay saved on the forum such that they don't vanish into nothingness
Guys, I think I should tell you that I'm watching this one too. It'll probably be just for pricing info as I don't have the cash I expect it to sell for. These black & white manual winds are pretty much the ONLY ones I'm interested in enough to shell out the funds for.
I think the problem is most of the guys that would be buying this have done too much buying recently and have exhausted their watch funds
Actually MKelley might be up for it, every time I think he's bought enough Omegas he's after the next one lol
This is a collector's piece - almost impossible to come by and worth a lot to the right collector. It is best kept in a safe since its value lies in the pristine condition it is in.
Good that Mike gave confirmation that this one is what the seller says it is. I wouldn't have believed a dial could be that nice, even in a NOS piece. Someone is going to get a very nice Omega, gatorcpa
