    Hey all,
Looking to buy my first Vintage Omega and I am looking at this nice Seamaster Cosmic. It looks to be in nice condition and claims everything is original besides the band. A couple questions I have; is it a redial? It supposedly gold filled, is there anyway to verify that? And finally, whats its value? I will include all the pictures below. Appreciate any help.

    Nice one... looks consistently mint.

Plus very nice dial. The cosmic's are a bit of the redheaded stepchild...thus rather cheap. Search eBay with sold only box ticked.

I'd have no qualms overpaying 100+ bucks for a watch as mint a that (if you like it)

Yup, you chose a good specimen. One thing to look out for Cosmics is the amount of wear and plating loss...which this one has escaped, mainly. Edges are still sharp, crystal is original (you can see the Omega logo in the centre of it,) dial and hands match as well as lume, and your crown is original.

Buy if the price is right!

Thanks for the great info! What do you reckon would be a fair price for this?

Thanks as well! Could you elaborate a bit more about what you were saying about cosmic's themselves, interested in their comparison to a regular Seamaster. What would be your fair price recommendation?

    There is no fair price.

If I really wanted it I'd pay $1599, if it was just on a whim I'd pass at $300.

How much is it going for?

Was for 450 and he came down to 325, I think I might offer 250.

Haggle, but 325 isn't bad for the condition.

Thanks, I will see what I can get it for. Is this indeed gold filled you think?

Yes, gold filled, gold capped, rolled gold. All the same sort of thing.

You can see the edge of the cap best in the photo of the crown.

Alright I see it now. And to confirm, gold filled is better than gold plated? Overtime the gold won't come off and expose the metal underneath. Thanks for the help.

Nice work! Obviously it's not possible to know for sure until it's in your hands, but I think you have bought a decent and very wearable watch for a very reasonable price. And a nice watch is even more of a pleasure to own when you know you've bought it under the radar.
