Hello,

I’ve been lurking and learning a bit as I am researching my first Omega purchase. I’m interested in older models and this looked interesting, although perhaps too clean at this price to be original. Wondering if the dial has been refinished. Noticed there is no “swiss made” on the dial. Are there other issues? Worthy of consideration? Thanks for helping with my education.

Welcome to the forums!

I'm new here as well so take this with a grain of salt... I think the dial looks a little suspicious in terms of sloppy paint (some of it comes up to cover the bottom the odd-hour markers) and also the written OMEGA (this one has got a straight legged M that I haven't seen on other watches of the same reference).

Edit: eBay listing also mentions "probably an earlier restore" which is probably an admission as well 😀

Serial of movement dates it end of 40s, but the omega script on the dial is rounded , a graphic like used from the 60s.
The movement shows different degrees of oxidation on different bridges, it must have taken a lot of humidity.
Parts were changed, and dial was sent to be repainted.
