Hi, Being new to the forum I'm not sure if this is posted in the right place, if not please let me know I'm now in the position where I can were nice clothes, watches etc. to work and I've been lusting after vintage Omega watches, to make a long story short I got caught up on an Ebay auction were I lost 2 mint condition Geneve's, so in the madness I put a bid on a Seamaster DeVille, and won. Now, after some research I'm questioning the authenticity and would like to ask those in the know if I screwed up or not It's dated 1967 with a 565 movement Thanks in advance Mark
Hi, That is not an Omega case. Nevertheless, if it were, all the "De Ville" line watches don't have any caseback. These watches open from the front, not from the back. That being said, the dial and movement appear to be original. Best, Javi.
The crystal is also wrong. Never been a fan of cyclops date window and Omega thankfully never really embraced this concept.
Unfortunately patients is not my strong point but you're absolutely right, I'll enjoy my Orient Symphony V2 Automatic while I search, and most of all RESEARCH Mark
Not true. I have seen many Omega signed magnifier crystals from the 1960's and 1970's. Unlike Rolex, these were optional on Omega. gatorcpa
With the dial and movement being correct would it be wise to find the proper case, if so which would be the correct one TIA Mark
Not worth the trouble and will end up being just as expensive as a good complete one. Keep looking as they do turn up.
