I am considering this watch, but I don't know enough about Omega watches to be sure that it is real. Will someone please help?

Not fake, just a repainted dial. It's a Wadsworth case - an American contractor for Omega back in that era.

Redials aren't so lucky Jimmy. 馃槣

Thank you, thank you! I definitely do not want a repainted dial. What would look different on the original dial?

I don't think it's repainted, would need better pictures to be sure though. The swiss is there, lume is aged and you can see the lacquer age.

His asking price is $350, which ***seems*** OK for a nice looking watch, but I am a total novice in this arena. I am passing on it. I'm guessing it would be best to buy when I know what I'm doing. I have no idea how to identify a repainted dial, among the many other things I should know before I buy.

Thanks again for the help.

Do some searching on this site. Just about every Omega has been discussed and dissected for originality. Take your time and you will find the right one. Welcome to enabling heaven, otherwise known as the Omega forum. 馃槣

I'd have to agree with kyle on the dial. I wouldn't write it off without better photos.

Even at $350 it's not a bad deal, but I'll agree that maybe better pictures would be good. I still think it's a redial because the letters in AUTOMATIC are unevenly spaced.

That poor leading "A", looks like the other letters are running away from it, must have BO.

Or maybe it's a new model, the "A Utomatic".
