I'd never heard of this reference until today, when one of my pals asked me about it. Case size is 36 mm, movement is a 30T2SC (copper finish, no shock absorption).

I'm stumped. Does anyone have this reference in their collection?

    Thanks,

    Art

I hesitate in sharing the dial photo because it's horrendous.

    Let's face it, Bill - it would take a six pack of Colt 45 . . .

It's an unusual reference, so even I would wear this re-dial if it were mine.

Do you have any background on it, Bill? I've never come across one before. Perhaps a one-off case design, issued in the post-war era?

    Hi Art,

never seen one before, & its not in the database. The lugs are in terrible shape though, the top 2 are starting to wear through. So don't be tempted to buy it.

Not in Omega's database? Little wonder it's so odd.

I guess I'll have to check with Omega.

    Hey Art,

I performed a query when I logged into the Extranet today, so when searching on case number 2326, I get this as a result:

    055ST2326 | STEEL CASE CAL. R13.5

So clearly not the case you have as that is a completely different animal in terms of the movement. However when I search on 2325, I get this:

    055ST2325 | STEEL CASE CAL. 30T2

My guess is that the "6" is actually a "5" and you have a 2325 instead.

You might want to look at that stamp again with a good loupe and see if it's a 5...

    Cheers, Al

    Art,

here is a picture from an old catalogue from the Omega museum with some specs regarding bezel opening and movement...

    2325.jpg

Art, can you please re-meassure the diameter and confirm that it might be 36mm?

From the proportion movement versus case it looks more like the larger case diameter 37,5 mm which was often used...

the problem that we could not comment on the ref.# was firstly of the wrongly read 2326

secondly on most of these very early 30 T2 SC watches you can find only a case serial number instead of a case (model) number (often called ref.#). So you will not know until you order an extract from the archives - and not many collectors do this on these early pieces because they are not so prone for fakes/marriages like for example a SM 300 or similar highly priced watches.

I have at least 2 watches with the same case design and 37,5 mm diameter, but unfortunately no photos to share yet - maybe I can take some in the next few days when the natural light environment is good.

I just heard from the owner, and sure enough, it measures 37.1 mm, so his initial estimate was off the mark.

Thanks for the additional photo, Erich. My sense is the hour and minute hands of my friends specimen are also unoriginal.

Not especially promising material for a collector unless original spares are at hand.

Oh, I was sure it was legit, Bill - it's just that I was going by the owner's initial info re the ref # and case diameter, neither of which rang a bell.

I'm not looking to add anything right at the moment . . . except a 2410, of course!

    Art,

I have taken photos of my ref. 2325-3 and a 2325 without ref# (which I am convinced it is also a 2325) for you to compare:

    2325-3.jpg

still a project - needs correct lumed hands but they are very hard to find in the right length for this large dial...
and needs a longer second hand too...

The movement has already shock protection.

    2325_early_.jpg

The second example I have has only the case serial number and no shock protection, serial number is lower, hence no ref.# on these earlier examples. I think this is the reason why they fly under the radar concerning the ref# knowledge... you would only know if you pulled an extract.

I have removed the bezel/crystal for better photo results - crystal is crazed...

    kind regards
    Erich

That black bulls-eye is just my cuppa tea, Erich - many thanks for sharing these images!

A shame my friend's example has so many issues . . . a jumbo is on my wishlist, but I'm pretty much a stickler for original dials and hands.
