and replace with a leather strap (and it still look appropriately finished)? Or does the head require a bracelet. Thank you

Integrated bracelet watches don't always take kindly to strap replacements.

There may be issues with spring bar clearances etc. and the strap may not be able to be full width, thus may look a bit odd.

Photo's of the back of the watch may help but for this model, the integrated bracelet would be my choice.

If you want a strap, buy another watch more suited to straps

 

And after a quick Google, I'd say "no way" (without serious MacGyvering).
