·Hi all, long-time listener first time caller here!
I have an Aqua Terra 38 that I've owned since new in 2021. The watch was fully serviced under warranty in May 2025 (Swatch Group SC, Southampton) and has just had a crown replacement at an Omega London AD (the crown pusher spring was binding/crunching when screwing down).
As I have minor OCD and am keen to iron out any issues before the original warranty expires (in about a month's time) and failing that the 2-year service warranty (next May), I have been keeping a close eye on the watch since getting it back a week ago. I've noticed an occasional small but audible click or 'ping' when automatic winding the watch (rotating or gently rocking the watch). It's quiet enough that the watch needs to be close to the ear to hear, but it's definitely there. It seems to occur when the watch is ~fully wound, so I'm assuming it's the bridle slipping inside the mainspring barrel. But, I've never heard this, or at least never so distinctly, from any of my other autos (IWC, JLC, Tudor, Rolex, Tissot, Junghans, Seiko).
Have other members heard this and is it normal for the bridle slip on a cal 8800? As said above, the watch was recently fully serviced so I assume it has a new mainspring and appropriate grease. Accuracy is within METAS specs and PR seems fine. Probably just my OCD... 😆
Any input appreciated. Thanks so much! 🙏
