Can anyone confirm that this bezel is original to a 105.012-66 Speedy? The dot diagonal to 70 looks right, but I'm curious about the dot diagonal to the 90?

I do not know of a DN90 bezel fitted to a watch of this vintage.

Based on the photo, which is a little fuzzy, I would have said this is a modern one with the small, rounder "TACHYMETRE" lettering.

It is deceptive, in that I have not seen a bezel like this looking so patinated. Most haven't had time to get marked at all.

That was my feeling too. The seller "assures" me it's legit. Here is the only photo from his previous listing. I asked for a better pic, and the result was the one above. He's asking for way too much for my wallet, but as it's a "birth year" Speedy, which is on top of my list for this year, I'm keeping an eye out and trying to learn in the process.

I have the same 105012-66 and the same doubt at first. But in Omega Worldwide Official Service said that my watch was never touched and all parts original. My visit to Omega Service was the first assistance to my Speedy 105.012-66.jpg . You can visit http
    ://www.speedmaster101.com/105-012/ and see the watch.

In the 60´s Omega used different parts from different suppliers, thats why the watches could look different.

    Read the caption! Quote:

"This watch is shown pre restoration and is now serviced. The bezel is a later replacement and incorrect for the year."

Your watch also has a bezel made well after 1966

You are right. the point is that my watch was not changed his original bezel . An example, in the other hand is, I have a 1968 861 transitional with the point over 90.

In my opinion if the watch keeps its original factory , regardless of the different component parts , the watch keeps all its history, tradition and hierarchy.

    Best, Ricardo.

I'm a bit lost as to whether people are in agreement or not on this thread.

All opinion points to these Dot next to 90 bezels being issued from late 69/70 and never on a 321cal. They cannot be factory original to a 66 Speedmaster and must have been changed at some point.

Unfortunately absolutely nothing in that article mentions bezels. It relates to the fact that the 321 movements were made some years earlier and fitted into various case references over the following decade, prior to the introduction of the 861. This has no bearing on the hands/bezels whatsoever.

99.99% of available info suggests that these bezels are not factory original to 321 Speedmasters.

I could do with one for my -65 so I wish that wasn't the case.

the bezel is not correct for that reference. Those bezels came up only with the 145.022, not earlier, especially not in 1966. But it is possible to source one at around 200 USD or so. If it was a Base1000 bezel missing (2998-1 or -2) I'd say you need 5 years to find one but here you will be lucky in a couple of months :)

I have never seen anything other than a Dot Over 90 bezel fitted to a calibre 321.
