Hello everyone, I have been looking for Sinn 903, but with Lemania movement, and saw some for sale in different places. Few days ago I stumbled on 903 with Lemania, but this one is anniversary edition. It was made for 35th anniversary of Sinn and there were 200 made. Case made out of titanium Same Lemania movement as original 903 Looks almost same as original, but dial is blue Tritium on the dial and hands (Ts on the dial) Seller is offering it for 1850 Euro, which looks to be a fair price, but I am not sure if I should go for it, or go for the original 903. I know few members on OF have 903s, so any help either way would be appreciated. Thanks very much.
I would go for an original. IMHO the fully lumed hands and the markers do not gel with the elegance of the dial. Also the early 903 have great patina. Here is mine from the early 90’s:
Until you specifically called this out I couldn't figure out what I thought was wrong with the LE there - but those fully lumed hands look ridiculous.
Yes, those lumed hands are a bit too much and one of the main reasons I am not 100% sold on it. I guess one could always swap for normal hands, which would give it much cleaner look. My main concern is that original 903s are harder and harder to find, at least in price range I would be willing to pay. Prices have been steadily going up from year to year, so odds are slim that I could find one around this price these days. Hope I am wrong, but so far no dice.
I saw that too, but not sure if it is just a picture or not. Send him a request for info and better pic earlier today.
I think I will roll the dice and hope to find original 903 down the road. While I do like this watch, I just cant get over those hands. Thanks again for your help
If unsure, it's better to be patient and wait for the one you really want. You'll be so glad you walked away from this one when you look back to this moment with the original 903 in hand.
