Hi guys, I just bought this watch because I love the dial, but I wonder if this it the correct handset for this watch as I encountered so many variations on the internet. Thank you in advance!

Will need to search on the model, but here was the one I owned from around 2000 or so when I found these models and posted about them and the Speedmaster companion model

My hands are fatter and less pointed.

Did a check and hands are incorrect on yours as is sweep hand which is a fatter luminous hand

Watch was also available as a manual wind with caliber 601

There are actually at least two different hand variations for this reference. The lumed second hand, and non-lumed white second hand. Both show up in roughly equal quantities, but the lumed second hand is generally more sought after and collectible. That said, this watch is hard to find in any guise so often if you’re looking, you can’t be picky about hand type.

Unfortunately, while your second hand appears to be one of the two correct versions, the minute and seconds hand are too thin. As Don says, it should be the fatter hands with more lume, in keeping with the heavily lumed dial.

There’s slightly more info on this thread, that I’m in the process of updating.

Many times I have corrected people on the Speedmaster model in that just because the dial has two dots on either side of the 12 index, does not make it a Speedmaster companion. People tend to get angry about that and correct me. The person that discovered and named them, but I'm wrong. Just trying to prevent them from over paying for something that isn't

Never looked at or found at the time the dated 300 model as I'm more about simplicity. Less is more design. My current two are 2 handed Panerai models.

Back in 2000-2001 there were a lot less sellers on Ebay, so less variety. They were really cheap though
