Good morning fellow WIS'

Do we have Military experts in our midst ?

Over the years I have collected the following info on these (Breitling ref 817 EI assigned) from the ones I have found online, seen offered on various sales fora, catalogues etc

not many as you can see (18 pcs)

# - watch serial number

0006 - 1 433 810
0024 - 1 433 697
0120 - 1 433 850
0182 - 1 433 513
0198
0328
0339
0354
0385
0388
0394 - 1 433 629
0416 - 1 433 398
0488 - 1 433 676
0517
0545 - 1 433 636
0567 - 1 433 567
0616

unassigned 1 433 786

It is my long held belief, after many years of investigating other Breitling models, that Breitling ordered watch cases in batches from 1000's pieces. probably due to economy of scale etc.

What I am trying to figure out is : do we know , or can we find out through previous E.I / CP-1 models from others brands, how many watches were typically bought from a manufacturer for their "E.I Esercito Italiano" Pilots ? I am trying to reason out how many assigned Breitling ref 817's were originally made , assigned and distributed

furthermore I have seen 1 unassigned piece (where there is one there typically are more) and the watch case numbers do not tally up to 1000 pcs yet given the ones I have found

anyway , I hope anyone has some specific Breitling ref 817 or general E.I info
thanks
Rene
