a colleague at work was telling me today he has at home an Omega quartz divers watch he bought some 30 years ago. He dived with it around three years ago and the watch got all misted up but did nothing with it.

He couldn't remember the model but says it was 100m dive watch which cost him about £30. Does this sound right on price?

He's going to bring it in on Thursday to show me. Presuming it is an Omega, I'm guessing the innards are now a mush. Is it still worth repairing or would a new quartz mechanism cost too much?

I appreciate the information is flaky but that's all I got.

Sounds like it could potentially be a pre-Bond? Though that price point makes me doubt. Will have to see photos when he brings it in!

Even 30 years ago, I'd be amazed at anything Omega costing £30... interested to see what turns up

I have to agree guys, I have no idea what watches cost then but sounds very cheap.

I'll take some pictures when he brings it in and post again.

    Thanks anyway.
