In my other thread about a portrait of a collector, a fellow member revived it in order to update what they have added. It got me thinking about "grail" goals that we all set. I know that for me, in 2016 I really wanted to find a Movado Super Sub Sea chrono...I found on in February, and with that grail off the list, have been checking other boxes as they appear. The gravy this year thus far watches that I have admired, but never figured I would own... 1675 found locally and then sourced the correct bezel insert UG Compax 38mm found locally 165.024 ebay 165.024 BT ebay 145-022 Speedy tropical ebay Yema Yatchingraf Zenith a3818 Wakmann v72c Would love to know how others are tracking to their collecting...err...hoarding goals for the year. Happy Hunting
Where are the pics!? Only two this year for me, 2998-61 from original owner and a 145.022-69 Scrit Dritte
Doubled my speedy count from 2 to 4, added 145.012-67 and 145.022-68 This year still want to add 145.022-78 Grail, 2998 and a rail master...
This year started of with a seamaster 165.014 ,Railmaster 2914 and only yesterday a speedmaster 105.003 .
Good Greif!! What purpose does this thread serve? I felt so much better being in the dark about how much has been spent in 2016. Thanks a lot! What is next, life-time update thread? See the common theme?
My personal grail is a omega bullhead at the start of the year my plan was to buy a 70s bullhead and a 2013 bullhead and be done with watch buying, then I saw a few watches I couldn t resist and decided to just get the 2013 bullhead because when all said and done I like it more than the original. I am not sure what the end result will be but it will probably end up with me spending more than I intended. Oh well such is life
Between buying and selling, I haven't the slightest idea how many have come and gone this year. Between the Private Sales forum, eBay and the "And What Did You Buy Today?(Watches)" thread, I could figure it out but I don't really care to know how much money I pissed away this year.
New collector so I've been fast and furious. Done for a long while. 4 UG (2 tri Compax 1 Compax 1 Polarouter 2 longines (ch30 and 13.33z) 1 Omega (pie pan) 2 RGM (801 Coe + 455 Custom Enamel Chrono 1 Gallet 1 Angelus
Mickey got lucky and added the one he really wanted, 145.022-68. However he had to give up his 145.022-69 straight writing to fund his '68.
The newest addition to the fleet. Should have this in a couple of days. De Ville 145.017, Cal 860 with a spare dial. Somewhat rare. 10,000 cal 860 made vs 300,000 cal 861. I'm excited.
Common theme, they were all blue dial. Still looking for 1980s Speedmaster. Not too many affordable choices. Not a great decade for Speedmasters.
Had 2 goals for this year. Both somehow surfaced this week. 1. I have been wanting to buy a nice all original 165.024 before they go further through the roof... Jumped on this one. 2. I've been after an early JLC memovox for a couple years, happened to find one this week. And it's a 3150, the first reference ever. This example also happens to have hooded lugs which were on my lust list. I reckon it's pretty rare.
