Does anyone know what era this box is from and what watch might have come in it? Sports, Dress?

What do the printed gold medallions on the inside lid signify? '68 Summer Olympics?

I think early - mid 60’s and not delivered in Europe

 

I bought this Constellation in 1970 and it came in this style box. Not sure about the medallions though (the box is long gone).
