    Hi All,
I'm afraid i've developed a sudden "interest" in this particular Speedy (Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz 35th Anniversary 311.30.42.30.99.001) with the meteorite dail. Now i'm ofcourse aware that every example is supposed to be different due to the unique slice of a meteorite on every single one of them, but i've now come across such widely varying pictures while browsing, i'm wondering if its more than just the different pictures, or that the differences between units is indeed pretty extreme.

So, i've collected a random selection below: i see dials from pretty even black through grey to almost white-wash? And subdials from dark grey to almost a pearl-like reflection. Supposedly all watches in the pictures are new/newish, not one of them is supposedly scratched or anything.

Q: are these photo's a fair reflection of the true range of different appearences? Or is it mostly different photo's/light that create this?

I would say lighting...Gemini IV LE dials are also very light dependent.

Probably though it's best if an actual speediorite owner chimes in!

As I only have one watch/dial and have not had the chance to compare two watches next to each other I really dont know if the colours actually differ. But I believe that the differences you have seen are due to differences in lighting and how colours are rendered on different screens.
The Widmanstätten pattern are all different though.

It’s most definitely a lighting/angle issue. Even a single subdial will reveal different patterns with varying angles/lighting...

    They’re great watches; love mine!

I’ve seen 3 at the same time. The colors are uniform. Some do have a nicer pattern though.

It’s all about the lighting. Some of these the dial looks pretty black, others much lighter, some more flat and others more textured.

I sold mine because of the glare on the dial due to the sapphire. In my opinion Omega should have used a hesalite on this one. Had they done that, hands down the speedyorite would have been the best ever LE.

Best Ever LE and Meteorite Speedmaster.

My consideration is exactly that demonstrated in @Taddyangle post: (the pictures of) a light greyisch Meteorite doesn't appeal as much to me as a tad darker one, but i can't fly around the world and see each one every time in person. So are the pictures truthfull to the differences, or are they all pretty much the same (overall brightness/contrast wise) and its just the light/angle that makes this piece so vibrant?

Thanks, and yes aware of that one. Actually, without offence, but the pictures in that listing do not excite me, but is that fair to the actual watch?

Beautiful dial in every case, these seems to be harder and harder to get!

I used to own one and really loved the look of the dial, it changed in different lighting conditions as explained above. Would have loved to have kept mine but need to consolidate for further grail purchases. I see that DLT222 has one for sale on this forum in Watches for Sale.

Thanks for the tip! Hadn't seen that listing, but i'm afraid our hopes, expectations and greed are to far apart :)
